Nashville Fire Department Headquarters
Location: Nashville, TN
Size: 25,000 SF
Services: Architecture and Engineering
The aging 1970’s Fire Administration Building was located at 500 Second Avenue North and shared a building with Fire Station No. 2 downtown. A facility study completed in 2002, recommended additions and repairs to all buildings utilized by the Nashville Fire Department. As a result, a new 25,000 square foot, the two-story facility was designed and constructed consolidating all administrative functions into one building.
With future expansion capabilities, the facility includes new offices for the Director Chief, the EMS and Fire Suppression Bureaus, the Community Services Bureau, the Fire Prevention Division’s fire inspectors and arson investigators, as well as other administrative personnel.
It is accessible from and designed to co-exist with the Richard H. Fulton campus and blends into the Rolling Mill Hill Development and surrounding neighborhood. Designed as a critical access facility, the entire building is on emergency power.
