PROJECT:

State Route 243

  • The original scope of this project was to provide a new bridge and approach over the railroad. The public hearings discovered the need for a left turn lane into Columbia Academy.
  • In addition some historic drainage problems required special design to provide storage capacity in the storm sewer system.
  • Surveys and preliminary designs were provided and right-of-way plans were submitted in 2006.
  • The project was let for construction in 2007 for a value of $3.5 million.
  • The construction was completed in May of 2009.
  • Estimated Completion: May 2009
  • Construction Cost: $3,500,000
