PROJECT:

Brentwood Church Street

The Church Street Bridge provides access into the Brentwood area across the CSX railroad for approximately 16,000 vehicles per day. The widening provides 6 lanes of traffic and 5’6“ sidewalks, and spans 75’0” using AASHTO-PCI Type III prestressed I-beams.

Sidewalks were added to aid pedestrian activity associated with the numerous businesses in the surrounding area. The use of stay-in-place deck forms permitted rapid construction while maintaining a minimum of 3 open traffic lanes at all times.

Exposed aggregate wing posts and stone veneer parapets lend an attractive
rustic appearance to the bridge. Utility lines are concealed either between the beams or within the sidewalks, permitting clean uncluttered side elevations.
