HFR Healthcare Planning

Healthcare Planning

Hospital planning specializes in facility developments (hospitals, clinics, medical schools, medical office buildings, retirement communities, mental health and ambulatory care centers). We are celebrating 10 years of service to the healthcare community (800 clients worldwide). Please browse through our work, consider HFRPD (Hart Freeland Roberts, Inc. Planning Department) for your campus planning needs, and share with us your thoughts, needs and expectations. We are large in experience but small in our attention to your needs!

We believe that hospital buildings, departmental layouts and staff work stations routinely impact the way our clients conduct their business on a daily basis. Our objective is to achieve the optimum in architectural planning and design. We also believe the hospital “campus” has a direct and formidable impact on patient care. The research conducted by James G. Easter, Jr., FAAMA, and Richard Carota, AAMA,  (see articles and publications please) addresses the many facets of hospital planning, healthcare operations, building design and construction.

Quality planning requires a balance of management, design and technology. We work in partnership with the client’s architects and engineers to achieve the optimum results. Consider HFRPD for your hospital, email us with questions and comments, please.

Planning Mission

The HFR/HPD mission is to use creative space programming and campus master planning methods to improve the overall quality of hospitals and related healthcare facilities.

“Many of our traditional hospitals?will be replaced by smaller, community-based and?family-focused satellite facilities.”

Mergers, acquisitions, network developments and improved hospital information systems continue to offer both opportunities and challenges for healthcare providers. Ultimately, these improvements reflect improved accessibility, accountability and technologically advanced clinical services for the healthcare delivery team, the patient and the family. This industry-wide change in healthcare delivery is evident through recent pressures to convert to Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) and the growth in outpatient, short-stay, and ambulatory care programs. Automation is advancing rapidly in all areas. To fulfill our mission, our corporate goal is to create the most appropriate “quality” place for these activities to occur and to ensure the most cost effective operations are delivered over time.
