Renovation of an 1,800-square-feet space to house a state-of-the-art cryo-electron microscope imaging center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The centerpiece of the imaging center would be a highly specialized cryo-electron microscope to be used in Vanderbilt’s world-class medical research.
Of critical importance was establishing a precisely controlled environment.
The HFR design team, along with Vanderbilt and manufacturer reps, traveled to the National Institutes of Health, where the only other cryo-EM of its type in the eastern U.S. had been installed at the time.
