Tennessee Fire Services and Codes Enforcement Academy

• On a 320-acre site with a manmade lake in Bedford County, Tenn., this $17 million facility is used to train firefighters and building codes officials.
• Design includes a 200,000-gallon elevated tank for water used on fires and a system that recirculates the water between the tank and the lake.
• A wastewater system on the site provides treated effluent discharge to the lake for use in the water system for fighting fires.
• Winner of Award of Merit from the Greater Nashville Regional Council and from the American Council of Engineering Companies for Structural Systems.
