PROJECT:
Tennessee Fire Services and Codes Enforcement Academy
On a 320-acre site with a manmade lake in Bedford County, Tenn., this $17 million facility is used to train firefighters and building codes officials.
Design includes a 200,000-gallon elevated tank for water used on fires and a system that recirculates the water between the tank and the lake.
A wastewater system on the site provides treated effluent discharge to the lake for use in the water system for fighting fires.
Winner of Award of Merit from the Greater Nashville Regional Council and from the American Council of Engineering Companies for Structural Systems.
