PROJECT:

Lara Kendall Elementary School

• A 61,000-square-foot addition and renovation of 10,700 square feet resulting in a 585-student K-8 school in Ridgely, TN.
• The design created the impression of a “new” school by enveloping the existing school with the new addition.
• The renovated portion houses 6th and 7th grade classrooms and cafetorium; addition includes new classroom wing, media center and gym.
• The main corridor of the new classroom addition is designed as a tornado shelter, officially designated the Lake County Community Shelter.
