Memorial Hospital Opens in Carthage, Illinois

A Critical Access Hospital designed by HFR recently opened in Carthage, Ill. The new Memorial Hospital in Carthage is an example of concise, functional design, yet timeless aesthetic. The clock tower, which can be seen for miles, is the main focal point of the building and features an illuminated clock face, internally lit letters and light sconces. The tower’s appearance and the location underscore the fact that the hospital is easily accessible to the entire county.

Tennessee Fallen Firefighter Memorial

On Sept. 11, 2009, at a special ribbon cutting and “bell ceremony,” the Tennessee Fallen Firefighter Memorial was dedicated in Bell Buckle, Tenn., on the grounds of the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy. Hart Freeland Roberts, which designed the academy, donated the design for the moving memorial.
